Happy Pride!
June is Pride Month and marks Stonewall, an uprising for queer liberation which occured in Manhattan in June 1969. It is a month of celebration and commemoration of members of the community and the impact they have made historically, culturally and in contemporary society.
At Bench, we want to bring celebration and appreciation to LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit folx, including those who are unable to be open about their identity, those without community, BIPOC folx, trans women, and non-binary people. Today, we celebrate pride and honour those who continue to bravely share their stories and their strength in activism.
You are seen, you are loved.
You are valid.
Your existence is revolutionary.
